CRAIGIEBURN COMMUTERS TO HAVE THEIR SAY ON NEW CAR PARK

The Andrews Labor Government will build up to 745 new car parks at Craigieburn Station, making it easier to get to the station and catch the train.

As part of the planning for the project, Member for Yuroke Ros Spence said the community is invited to have their say on what’s important to them and help inform the design by completing an online survey.

The Labor Government’s car park expansion will boost the number of available spaces to 1,139.

Planning is well underway for the new car park, with the proposed site revealed and artist impressions now available.

The new car park will be built along the eastern edge of the Hume Highway, directly east of the station, and will be linked to the station via a new footpath.

It will also provide better pedestrian access to the station, as well as improved safety and security with CCTV and lighting.

The project is part of the Labor Government’s $60 million commitment to deliver more than 2,000 new and upgraded car parking spaces across Victoria.

The Labor Government has already delivered almost 10,000 new and upgraded spaces over the last four years.

A re-elected Labor Government will continue its record investment and build 11,000 more spaces at stations across the state, along with improved bicycle storage facilities, CCTV cameras and better lighting.
