MASSIVE BOOST FOR CATHOLIC SCHOOLS IN MICKLEHAM & CRAIGIEBURN
The Allan Labor Government is ensuring that every Victorian student can learn in the best facilities – with low-fee Catholic schools across the state to receive funding to upgrade classrooms and build new facilities.
Ros Spence MP recently announced Kolbe Catholic College, Oscar Romero Catholic Primary School, and Holy Cross Catholic Primary School are just three of the 65 Catholic schools across Victoria which will receive funding to expand and modernise existing facilities or build new schools.
Kolbe Catholic College will receive $6 million which will go towards the construction of stage two of their school’s campus in Mickleham including for a learning neighbourhood, sixteen general learning areas, a performing arts centre, five specialist learning spaces, multipurpose spaces, four modular general learning areas, other associated spaces, landscaping, and carparking.
Holy Cross Catholic Primary School in Mickleham will also benefit from this terrific program with a total of $6 million for the construction of a senior school learning building, which will include six general learning areas, flexible learning spaces, breakout areas, other associated spaces, and landscaping works.
Oscar Romeo Catholic Primary School in Craigieburn will also be receiving $3.6 million for the construction of eight modular general learning areas and other associated works.
These projects are being delivered through the Catholic stream of the Labor Government’s Building Fund for Non-Government Schools – which helps schools upgrade and expand their facilities, ensuring families have the best learning environments for their children.
Non-government schools are an important part of Victoria’s education system, with more than one-third of Victorian students studying at Catholic or independent schools.
