MULTICULTURAL FESTIVALS AND EVENTS PROGRAM

The Victorian Government is supporting multicultural communities and organisations to hold cultural events and festivals for their local communities through round one of the Multicultural Festivals and Events Program.

Member for Yuroke, Ros Spence MP today announced local recipients in her electorate through the program.

Recipients include, the Ente Keralam Cultural Forum, the Kali Mata Mandir Craigieburn, the Nepalese Association of Victorian, and the Victorian Afghan Youth Association.

This program offers grants of between $2,000 and $50,000 to support organisations across Victoria to host events that help preserve multicultural communities’ heritage and provide opportunities to celebrate and share their cultural identity, customs, and traditions with Victorians from all backgrounds.

As part of this program applicants were encouraged to explore new methods of reaching people to join in their celebrations and to consider how their events could be delivered in an online or hybrid format.

Quotes attributable to Member for Yuroke Ros Spence MP:

“I am proud the Andrew’s Labor Government is working to support organisations in my community through this program.”

“This program allows multicultural and multifaith communities to celebrate and share their cultural heritage with all Victorians regardless of their background.”
