NEW SCHOOL GETS THEIR FIRST PRINCIPAL

Families across Greenvale are a step closer to having access to a great new local school, with the principal appointed to lead Greenvale North West Primary School (interim name), set to open in 2021.

Member for Yuroke Ros Spence today announced the appointment of Loren Peavey as principal of Greenvale North West Primary School (interim name) following a range of leadership roles at primary schools, including as acting principal of Roxburgh Park Primary School since the start of 2020 and as principal of Romsey Primary School since 2015.

Over the coming months, Ms Peavey will work with the local community, students and parents to build a school for the area that will deliver excellence and opportunity for students. Meet with Principal events will also be held later this year.

To establish the school with strong foundations, they will appoint talented and committed staff and build relationships with families and the community.

The Andrews Labor Government’s school building boom is delivering six brand new schools in the Yuroke electorate, ensuring every child can access a great local school close to home where they can achieve their best.

This includes Aitken Hill Primary School and Elevation Secondary College in Craigieburn, which opened in 2019 and 2020 respectively, as well as Greenvale North West Primary School and Merrifield West Primary School, which will open in 2021, followed by Kalkallo Common Primary School and the long-awaited Greenvale Secondary School in 2022.
