MORE CAR PARKS THAN EVER AT CRAIGIEBURN STATION

Passengers at Craigieburn station will find it easier to get a car park, with more than 30 new spaces now available thanks to the Andrews Labor Government.

From this week, 32 extra spaces will open on nearby Potter Street, taking the number of car parks built at the station since October 2016 to over 150.

New parking on Potter Street will help unclog local streets, save passengers time and take the hassle out of driving from station to station trying to find a spot.

Another 745 spaces at Craigieburn station will also be built along the eastern edge of the Hume Highway and open to the public in mid-2020– boosting the total number of spaces in the area to over 1,100.

Planning and designs are progressing for these spaces, informed by feedback from passengers and local residents which highlighted the need for more parking spaces and safe pedestrian access to the station.

The Craigieburn Station car park upgrade was announced in the 2018/19 Victorian Budget when the Labor Government provided $60 million to build more than 2,000 new and upgraded car parking spaces across Victoria.

A further 11,000 new spaces will be created at stations across the state as part of the 2019/20 State Budget, with the Victorian Government’s $150 million Car Parks for Commuters Fund to make it easier to find a park at some of our busiest metropolitan and regional train stations.
