PRINCIPALS ON THEIR WAY FOR MERRIFIELD WEST SECONDARY SCHOOL & MOUNT RIDLEY SPECIAL SCHOOL (INTERIM NAMES)

Current and aspiring school principals have a unique opportunity to lead brand-new schools and establish a new culture from the ground up, with applications now open for principal positions at our two newest local schools set to open in 2023

Member for Yuroke Ros Spence MP today announced applications for dedicated educators to lead the opening of Merrifield West Secondary School and Mount Ridley Special School (interim names), two of 12 new schools the Andrews Labor Government will open in 2023.

Principals for Merrifield West Secondary School and Mount Ridley Special School will be appointed around April and begin work in Term 2 this year.

To establish the school with strong foundations, the new principals will appoint talented staff as soon as possible to build relationships with families and the new school communities, as well as working closely with architects and builders to provide the right environment for students to achieve their best.

Prospective principals can apply through the Department of Education and Training’s Recruitment Online portal.

The Labor Government is building the Education State so that every student can access a great local school and a quality education.

In 2022, 14 new schools will open across the state as part of the Government’s work to build 100 new schools between 2019 and 2026, delivering a quality education for students in the state’s fastest-growing areas.
