TRAFFIC LIGHTS SWITCHED ON AT CRAIGIEBURN CFA

New traffic lights outside Craigieburn Fire Station have been officially switched on, making it safer for fire trucks as they enter or exit the station.

The Andrews Government contributed $30,000 and CFA $300,000 to the project, which improves access to and from busy Craigieburn Road.

The signals include an emergency phase, which can be triggered by personnel within the station.

Existing traffic lights at the nearby intersection of Craigieburn and Bridgewater Roads have been upgraded and can also be triggered from the fire station when an emergency is underway.

Craigieburn CFA has 26 volunteer and 24 career firefighters who respond to an average of 450 incidents each year.
