2017 Youth Advisory Council to meet for the first time

This year’s Yuroke Youth Advisory Council will meet for the first time on Friday, State Member for Yuroke Ros Spence said.

This year’s 16-member Youth Advisory Council is majority female and includes a diverse range of local young adults studying at TAFE, University and secondary schools from a variety of cultural backgrounds.

The Council includes school-based nominees and for the first time, self-nominated community members who recently participated in an interview process.

At their first meeting, the Youth Advisory Council will discuss local issues and determine their priorities and projects for the year ahead. Youth Advisory Council members will meet monthly throughout this year.

Ms Spence established the Youth Advisory Council in 2015 to give local young people a voice in decision making and represent the interests of their peers.
