Helping Yuroke sports clubs grow

The Andrews Labor Government is supporting grassroots sports clubs in Yuroke to attract more members and promote healthy and active lifestyles.

Member for Yuroke Ros Spence today announced four local clubs would receive grants from the latest round of the Labor Government’s Sporting Club Grants Program.

Successful clubs include:
• Craigieburn Football Club – $2,950 for skills development new playing jumpers
• Roxburgh Park United Soccer Club – $2,000 to training and establishing a new girls team
• Craigieburn Tennis Club – $1,500 for Level 2 First Aid training
• Craigieburn Basketball Club – $957 for new equipment

Grassroots clubs are the heart of Victorian communities. They keep families connected, kids happy and healthy and communities safe. Our Sporting Club Grants Program is helping these important institutions grow.

Grants will cover the costs of new equipment like bats or balls, modern uniforms or development programs for coaches, players and officials.

Victoria is the sporting state, and it starts at the grassroots. Our $100 million Community Sports Infrastructure Fund is helping clubs all over Victoria update tired grounds and build the facilities they need.

We’ve established a Better Indoor Stadiums Fund, to build stadiums for sports like basketball and netball where they’re needed, and we’ve boosted the Country Football Netball Program to help rural and regional clubs thrive.
