Apply for the Yuroke Youth Advisory Council

Nominations for the 2019 Yuroke Youth Advisory Council are now open.

Young people across the community aged from 14 to 21 will be invited to nominate for the voluntary council, which will also include representatives from local secondary schools.

State Member for Yuroke Ros Spence chairs the Council, which she established in 2015 shortly after being first elected to State Parliament. The Council provides young people in the Yuroke electorate a rare opportunity to reflect community interests develop new skills and learn about policy making processes.

Previous members of the Yuroke Youth Advisory Council have engaged in a range of activities, from meeting with Ministers, Councillors and not-for-profit CEOs to discuss local concerns, to planning and running an anti-violence awareness campaign, and most recently, running a Youth Employment Forum.

The Yuroke Youth Advisory Council will meet monthly in Craigieburn from March to November this year on the second Tuesday of each month.

Use the form below to submit your nomination before March 1. Interviews for nominees will then be conducted prior to this year’s first Youth Advisory Council meeting on Tuesday 12 March, 4.00pm at my office (located at Craigieburn Central Shopping Centre).
