Yuroke Youth Advisory Council
Nominations for the 2017 Yuroke Youth Advisory Council are now open.
For the first time, young people across the community aged from 14 to 21 will be invited to nominate for the voluntary council, as well as representatives from local secondary schools.
Member for Yuroke Ros Spence chairs the Council, which she established in 2015 shortly after being first elected to State Parliament. The Council provides young people in the Yuroke electorate a rare opportunity to reflect community interests develop new skills and learn about policy making processes.
Previous members of the Yuroke Youth Advisory Council have engaged in a range of activities, from meeting with Ministers, Councillors and not-for-profit CEOs to discuss local concerns to planning and running an anti-violence awareness campaign.
The Yuroke Youth Advisory Council will meet monthly at Ms Spence’s Craigieburn electorate office from March to December.
Use the form below to submit your nomination before March 3. Interviews for nominees will take between March 6 and March 10, with this year’s first Youth Advisory Council meeting taking place on March 17.
