Upgrading major local roads

The Andrews Labor Government are investing in a massive upgrade to duplicate Craigieburn Road West, boosting capacity and slashing congestion for more than 28,000 drivers who rely on this road each day.

Key intersections will be upgraded along Craigieburn Road, including upgrading the existing roundabout at Mickleham Road to traffic lights. New shared cycling and pedestrian paths will be built on both sides of the road and flexible safety barriers will be installed to improve safety.

The upgraded Craigieburn Road will improve travel times and connections through the heart of Craigieburn. You can check out the detailed design now at your.roadprojects.vic.gov.au/craigieburn-road

Planning and development work is also underway to upgrade Mickleham Road from Somerton Road to Dellamore Boulevard in Greenvale, with funding committed to early planning work on upgrading Somerton Road between Mickleham Road and Roxburgh Park Drive.

This investment stands in stark contrast to the previous Liberal Government, who did not invest a single cent in major projects to fix our key local roads.
