NEW COMMUNITY CENTRE FOR RESIDENTS IN KALKALLO

A brand-new community centre in Kalkallo is one step closer to being complete thanks to the Andrews Labor Government.

Member for Yuroke Ros Spence MP visited the site at the Kalkallo North Community Centre last month where works to construct this Council-led project are currently underway.

Once complete, this centre which is backed by $2 million in funding from the Andrews Labor Government’s Growing Suburbs Fund will include community spaces, a multipurpose activity room, preschool rooms, consulting rooms, and a training room.

In the 2021-22 State Budget, the Andrews Labor Government announced $50 million in funding for the Growing Suburbs Fund to continue supporting the infrastructure needs of Melbourne’s interface and peri-urban councils.

Since 2015, the Labor Government has invested a total of $31.5 million towards 35 projects in the Hume City Council area through the Growing Suburbs Fund.
