ROUNDABOUT UPGRADES TO EASE TRAFFIC PRESSURE IN KALKALLO

Member for Yuroke Ros Spence today announced the Victorian Labor Government is investing $6 million to upgrade the Donnybrook Road/Mitchell Street roundabout to improve traffic flow and cater to the demand of nearby growing estates.

This roundabout improvement will ease traffic congestion along the road during peak periods to create a smoother journey for motorists.

As part of the upgrade, a new left turn lane at the roundabout will be added at the intersection of Mitchell Street and Donnybrook Road.

This upgrade will help to reduce the delay at the east approach, while not impacting the wider road network, benefitting residents travelling towards the Hume Freeway from the Cloverton estate.

Planning work is underway for the roundabout upgrades.

Stockland Project Director, James Westh also announced that Stockland will build the Cloverton Boulevard Bridge which will form the second exit from the Cloverton estate onto Donnybrook Rd.

Together these two projects will help to alleviate the congestion issues within the Kalkallo community.
